We talked about it last week, but it has happened—Apple is now banned from selling its latest Apple Watches in the U.S. Dave and I talk about what Apple's next steps could be to end the ban. We also discuss news that Jony Ive and Sam Altman are working on AI devies together, and the fact that more designers from Ive’s team at Apple now work at LoveFrom than remain at Apple. Apple has also decided to close its  Infinite Loop Company Store in Cupertino next month.

Apple is preparing to stop sales of the Apple Watch in the U.S. after a decision by the ITC left the company with little choice. GM is putting its worst foot forward in trying to explain why it is not supporting CarPlay in future cars—this time they say it is for safety reasons. The Apple vs Beeper battle is still ongoing this week.

Apple this week unveiled some new security changes for its iPhone devices. Specifically, if someone steals your iPhone, and has your password, they will no longer be able to change security settings without using Face ID. The Apple TV got a little redesign this week, as well, adding a new sidebar menu that should make it easier to navigate shows and channels in the app. Dave and I also talk about rumors of a new M3 MacBook Air and when we might see thos machines.

Apple this week released its App Store Award winners, most popular podcasts, and top books of 2023. You can also see your top played songs and albums of the year in Apple Music. Rumors from a couple of months ago turned out to be true—Apple will be looking for a new partner for its Apple Card and savings account. Dave and I also look at a story from a police department warning parents that Apple's new NameDrop feature is unsafe for kids.

It's that time of year again—Apple is starting to put out its holiday ads, which are typically some of the best on TV. Dave and I take a look at this year's Thanksgiving ad, as well as some of our favorite Apple ads of all time. We also talk about the debacle at OpenAI as their co-founder and CEO got ousted this week. In addition we look at Apple's hardware goals for the next few years and see what's in store for consumers.

We also look at some of the cool new features in Messages that are available with iOS 17. Last week I mentioned that Apple's new Lightning to USB-C adapter didn't work with my iPhone 15—turns out, I'm not alone.

Apple could have a search engine in the works that would rival Google. However, it may not be the search engine, but the threat of using its own search that may have Google shaking in its boots. It was a big week for Apple. The company held its annual iPhone event releasing a number of new products that Dave and I talk about. The iPhone, iPhone Plus, iPhone Pro and iPhone Pro Max were all introduced during the keynote. Also, a new series of Apple Watch was introduced with some really cool features that everyone will be using—those are the best type of features.

Dave decided to change his Apple ID password this week—a decision he now regrets. The process wasn't as easy as he thought it would be and was downright frustrating in some instances. Apple announced its annual iPhone event for September 12—we discuss some of the products that you could see announced. We talk a little more about the iPhone 15 since it is the main product to be announced at the event.

Sadly, one of the greatest innovators in tech has died. John Warnock invented some of the most used technology in the world—Dave and I talk about his contributions to the world. The iPhone 15 may come with color-matched braided cables if rumors on the Internet are to be believed. The new device could also support faster charging speeds, which would be a bonus for all users. Mark Gurman delivers some rumors on what he's heard is coming to the iPhone 15 this year—Dave and I run through some of the ones we like the most. Apple TV+ is now available on Air Canada flights. This is a great move for Apple because it will introduce many new people to the service. Pixar, Adobe, Apple, Autodesk, and NVIDIA form Alliance for OpenUSD to drive open standards for 3D content, but one company is missing from that list. Dave walks us through a little Easter Egg in iOS.

If you've opened up Apple TV lately, you know that all you can see is ads for Lionel Messi—everywhere. Apple has even put Messi ads in the Movies tabs of the app. There's no doubt that he's the world's best player and Apple is doing everything they can to promote MLS, but maybe they can tone it down a bit. Dave and I also talk about the Vision Pro App Store and how important that will be going forward. Elon Musk changed the name of Twitter to X—does that make any sense at all?

Dave had some strange issues with his AirPods Pro recently that he just couldn't figure out. He tells a great story of visiting the Apple Store and how things got resolved. Last week, we talked about the EU forcing phone companies to have replaceable batteries, now they are looking at a law that would force Apple to make it easier to get your data from iCloud.
